ABSTRACT

There is little experience in using the Internet as a teaching and learning tool. There is experience and research on computer-based learning. This has given insights to elements of screen design, the development of interaction through online and offline working, file transfers and the evolution of the computer into an audio-visual communication device. It is my hope that through the examination of a SWOT analysis of the Internet and the problems of computer-based learning, when courses are made available through the Internet there will be effective teaching and learning in the material.
