ABSTRACT

Asking the question ‘who does it and why?’ might be the wrong way to go about looking at telework in the latter years of the twentieth century. Today, it is more like, ‘who isn't doing it and why?’ because there is increasing overwhelming evidence that organizations and individuals are turning to this form of work, either out of preference or necessity. With powerful technology that has been around for years in one form or another now at last totally user-friendly, teleworking for at least some of the working week is set to take off.
