ABSTRACT

Of all industries referred to in this book the food industry is the one which ought to be totally dedicated to the maxim of quality. As with any other industry, there will always be the variety between organizations with prestigious names and those with cut price labels, but irrespective of whether the product is baked beans or caviare, from a producer or processor, wholesaler or retailer, restaurateur or cafe owner, all have one basic thing in common — the need to provide food which is fit for human consumption — that which is fit for its purpose, in other words that which is a quality product.
