ABSTRACT
The integration of CAD with construction through the exchange of computer-based information in common data-exchange formats is becoming an increasingly common aspect of contemporary architectural practice that allows the efficient transfer of design information to fabricators and construction companies. The CAD work on the Guggenheim Museum, for example, demonstrated the interaction between designers and contractors through the detailed production co-ordination of the museum design.
