ABSTRACT

CAD models in architectural design are developed in order to communicate intended design proposals. Communication of intention, therefore, is central to CAD modelling in architectural design. An expression in the form of a CAD model during design activity is carried out in order to visualise, comprehend and criticise design ideas, such that modification of the idea can take place in the path towards a satisfactory design solution. This very act of criticism or analysis is what enables the development of ideas, and only by the expression of ideas is it possible to successfully analyse them.
