ABSTRACT
As mentioned in the literature review, many attempts have been made to measure and specifically assess poor, disorganized families. The difficulty of assessing such families has no doubt been a major obstacle to conducting a clinical inquiry in the area. Generalizations about disorganized families or multiproblem families have led to many misconceptions. A descriptive scale may contribute to overcoming some of these difficulties.
