ABSTRACT

The beautiful thing about herbal medicine is that it has so much aesthetics to it. It has so much life force to it. At its center, herbalism is so much about getting in touch with beauty and using all of your senses—touching and smelling and tasting and feeling. If you go to an herb store, pull a bottle of herbs off the shelf, and open it—and look at it and smell it and taste it—you’ve gotten so much more involved with that medicine than with a tincture which you just put in drops of water. The more you involve your senses in the process, the more you are enlivening yourself.
