ABSTRACT
Though relatively young, the Buddhist community has moved to form workable ecumenical structures. The first were formed some years ago by the older Japanese Buddhist community. More recently immigrant communities from Korea, China, Tibet, and southeast Asia came together with the new Western Buddhist groups to form the American Buddhist Congress, the Buddhist equivalent of the National Council of Churches.
