ABSTRACT
Japanese general, born into a samurai family in 1856. Kamio served as a sergeant in the Satsuma Uprising of 1877 and was promoted to officer rank in 1879. His next thirty-five years mixed an excellent record of training plus active service. This combination made Kamio a divisional commander by 1912.
