ABSTRACT

Kaiser, Henry J . (1882-1967) American industrialist and ship builder. Kaiser is a typical case study in the American image of the self made man. He began as a civil engineer, building highways in the American West from 1914 to 1929, and in Cuba in 1930. He moved on to dams and bridges from 1933 to 1943. In 1940, he acquired a number of shipyards in California and Oregon, and began construction of aluminum plants.
