ABSTRACT

In recent years, women in the Philippines have had increasing access to educational and occupational opportunities. Education enrollment rates for females at all levels shows moderate increases, and women continue to gain advantage in college and graduate school enrollments (Smock 1981). Female employment also has been increasing. Between 1978 and 1983, female employment registered a 30 percent growth. There are now two female workers for every male worker in the Philippines (Women's Decade in the Philippines 1985).
