ABSTRACT
Most West African writers have focused on the culture and its implied limitations on the economic roles of women (Akubue 1993; Mufuyai 1991). Some North African authors decry the inevitable veils, servitude, and domesticity of the Moslem women, while southern activists speak about economic repression and racism for all blacks (Bruner 1984).
