ABSTRACT

How money earned from employment is managed is an important consideration for working women. The way money is handled can affect the amounts that are spent for different purposes, and thus the benefits that are derived from women's earnings (Brannen and Moss 1987). Money-management style can also affect the extent to which women participate as active agents in the construction of their own lives. In North America today, women's increased occupational involvement as wage earners is helping to increase their economic agency.
