ABSTRACT
Rossmoor Leisure World in Laguna Hills (RLWLH) is a “retirement new town” designed for active adults 52 years old or older. It is composed of cooperatives and condominium housing, clustered around open spaces or opening onto courtyards. There are singlefamily detached, one-, two-, and three-story two to eight plexes, and apartments. It also includes the Towers, a high-rise retirement residence with congregate services. RLWLH offers extensive recreational, medical, security, transportation, and maintenance services. The community opened in 1964 and was developed by the Rossmoor Corporation, an experienced development corporation and the originator of the Leisure World concept.
