The stopping dress rehearsal is given a number of names in the industry: the tech, the technical rehearsal or the stagger through. The latter term conjures a vision of an event that is on its last legs and quite uncontrolled. This should certainly not be the case, for at this stage in the production process you cannot afford to allow anything to get out of hand.
