Charmian is one of Cleopatra’s attendants, along with Iras, Alexas and others. Of all of them Charmian is the closest to their mistress. She is lively, forthright and absolutely loyal to her mistress. When Cleopatra dies, Charmian straightens her mistress’ crown before she kills herself in the same way.
