ABSTRACT

A revolve, or turntable, is a rotating disc or ring upon which items of set and/or cast can be turned through space. Although they can be built of timber and plywood, most revolves are of steel construction, with plywood tops. Consequently, engineering contractors tend to be the experts on revolves and they will either build them to suit each job or hire out stock-revolves for short-term use. Small turntables are readily available to hire for use with cars – car shows always seem to use revolves.
