The Notre Dame Mystique can be found residing in many places. There are approximately two hundred alumni clubs and countless other fugitive groups, the “subway-prairie-mountain-swamp alumni” who live only for the school's next gridiron triumph and know nothing of its excellent academic reputation. Beano Cook, currently a sports analyst for ESPN, observed that “Notre Dame is the only team in the country that never plays a road game.”
