ABSTRACT

Libraries are full of information about the part played by toxic chemicals and ionizing radiation in causing not only breast cancer, but the many other cancers that are killing men, women, and children. Today, indeed for decades, there exists enough information about nearly every chemical used in commerce, the home, and agriculture to determine its potential for risk. We do not need to reinvert the wheel! Well-established as well is scientific information concerning hazards of ionizing radiation. A powerful film, and accompanying 28-page booklet, with interviews of breast cancer patients, activists, and scientists whose testimony discusses breast cancer and chemicals, ionizing radiation, hormones, lifestyle, and genetics. A very effective grassroots organization, dedicated to exposing sources of chemical pollution and promoting prevention in their area. New Paltz is located in the lower Hudson River Valley amid a fruit-growing region and an area of high breast cancer incidence.
