ABSTRACT

Article ii of the Constitution lists the president's powers. Although it grants far fewer explicit powers to the president than Article I grants to Congress, the ambiguity and vagueness of Article II have made it possible for presidents to expand their powers. Section i of the article clearly grants executive power to the president: "the executive Power shall be vested in a President..." Section 3 makes the president responsible for the execution of federal laws: the president "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed..."
