ABSTRACT

The labor force refers to the total population between 15 and 64 years of age. The strength of the organized labor movement varies from country to country and from sector to sector from country to country and from sector to sector within a country. In almost every country, the unemployment rates for youth (ages 18 to 21) are greater than those of any other age segments. The causes may vary from country to age segments. Generally, young workers of both sexes who look for work between the ages of 18 to 21 are unskilled workers who have dropped out of school. The percentage of labor in the services sector of the economy has been gaining in all industrialized countries and may constitute a significant post-industrial trend. Agricultural labor is also characterized by a greater proportion of women, most of who serve as greater proportion of women, most of who serve as unpaid family workers.
