a form of mass movement in which debris moves downslope. When weathered material becomes saturated, internal friction between the particles is reduced and stress can cause the debris to move under gravity. This can occur on slopes as gentle as 5° once mobile, but usually needs a slope of about 10° to initiate movement. Flows are generally faster than creep.
