ABSTRACT
The end of World War II ushered in the Nuclear Age, and the political and military strategy of all nations was influenced by the confrontation between the two major nuclear powers: the United States and the Soviet Union. Both countries had achieved superpower status simultaneously, having done so amid the ruins left by World War II.
