ABSTRACT

Implementation of the Florida Environmental Land and Water Management Act of 1972 did not begin until the last half of 1973, when the writing of this book was in its final stages. For this reason, I have been unable to attempt a thorough evaluation of the act and how it is being carried out (procedures prescribed in the act are diagrammed in figures 5-2 and 5-3). Indeed, the experience to date—as I write, it is October 1, 1974—is much too limited to allow such an evaluation. I will, however, briefly note a few salient facts and apparent trends from the first year's experience with this new law.
