ABSTRACT
In this section I am going to look at the roles, skills and knowledge of a drama teacher. My interest is in identifying what a potential drama specialist might need in addition to the skills and knowledge required of any competent and qualified teacher. All teachers, for instance, must have knowledge of the subject they are going to teach and know how to apply this knowledge in the classroom. They must be experienced in basic classroom management and planning schemes of work that are relevant and appropriate to the pupils they teach. They must know how to assess, report and record the achievements of their pupils.
