ABSTRACT
In 2002, there were 10.9 million new cancer cases in the world, and 6.7 million deaths. The most common cancers worldwide are lung, breast, large intestine (colon and rectum), stomach and prostate. Liver cancer is the most common cancer for men in several African countries, although Kaposi sarcoma has become the most common in those countries severely affected by the AIDS epidemic.
