ABSTRACT
In Chapter 3 we saw that in theory over 50 per cent of household waste is recyclable, and that based on this assumption, the government has set a target of recycling at least one half of this figure, that is 25 per cent of all household waste, by the year 2000. In 1993, we recycled as little as 5 per cent of all household waste, so how is the required five׳ fold increase in recycling to be achieved?
