ABSTRACT
The first bottle bank was introduced over seventeen years ago and ever since, the recycling of household waste has been developing, with the last four to five years having seen a major increase in the level of this activity. It is therefore perhaps a little surprising, given the length of time that recycling has been practised, that one of the most fundamental questions regarding recycling has still not been answered. This is the question: how much does recycling cost?
