The 18 case studies in this second part of the book are more detailed versions of the material contained in Chapter 3. This chapter is for all those readers who want a comprehensive insight into the complexities of urban 'best practices', and the processes of cooperation that have made them possible. These case studies demonstrate the diversity of approaches taken in different parts of the world to move towards urban social and environmental sustainability under the auspices of Agenda 21.
