The subcommittees reviewed the proposals for projects and sent their recommendations to the CAC, all activities were prioritized and approved or denied. Subject to final approval by the and the S\:;lte Department of Environmental Conservation (the agency that originally levied the fine), the DEP then contracted the projects to individuals or organizations based on the scope of work developed by the CAC.
