ABSTRACT
In order to take full advantage of all the benefits offered by daylighting it is necessary to acquire a deeper understanding of the behaviour of light. With this purpose in mind, it is important to analyse all the possibilities available to architects. The first step is to achieve a good approximation of the effects that the use of daylighting components has on architectural design. Then the different types of components available and their different combinations, together with their luminous performance and fields of application must be known.
