ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1 we analysed the concept of individualization, in order to show its complexity, in terms of what aspects of the instruction are individualized, who takes the decisions and at what level (or with what frequency) the decisions are taken. We shall now proceed to the question of how to perform the design of individualized systems of instruction. We shall use four basic characteristics of instructional systems as dimensions which we should specify during the design process.
