ABSTRACT

In this chapter we review the principal stages and procedures of the instructional design and development process. As was the case in the previous chapter, our intention is to furnish an overall context for the specific theme of this book. The development of instructional materials is, after all, the final phase of a much more extensive instructional design and development process. Even if the materials developer was not personally responsible for, or even involved in, the initial planning of a training project or new curriculum, it is a good idea to be aware of the techniques and procedures used in such planning.
