ABSTRACT

An OFSTED inspection team requires certain information in advance in order to understand the way in which the school operates. In the main, this is limited to what a school would normally be expected to have in place. Inspectors will need to see:

the headteacher’s Form and Statement;

the school prospectus;

the school development plan (or equivalent);

minutes of governing body meetings for the last 12 months;

the last annual report to parents and governors;

the staff handbook (if one is available);

curriculum policies, plans and guidelines for schemes of work already in existence;

plan of the school;

teaching time-tables for the week of the inspection;

other policy documents which are available in the school.
