ABSTRACT

The material for this chapter has been collected from several different sources. Peter Limbrick (from the ‘Springfield Project’) has supplied the information for some of the cases studies used to illustrate ways of working in an effective support partnership between professionals and parents in the preschool stage. Other cases studies have been carried out specifically to provide data for this book and yet others have been collected over many years of personal experience of working with families of children with disabilities. The first part of the chapter is based mainly in the school years and the second part mainly in the preschool years.
