Writing Across the Curriculum

There are sound reasons why all children need to reinforce writing skills across subject areas. For example:

all writing needs cannot fit into the literacy hour;

subject writing offers a range of contexts for practice;

subject writing contributes to evidence for assessment; and

pupils are more likely to view writing as a learning aid.
