Further Education: Educational Techniques, Independent Living Skills and Work Placements

At this stage in the educational process, the wide range of intellectual abilities shown by people with PWS becomes very apparent. Some are still unable to read and write, while others will be entering FE with several GCSE passes. Nevertheless, many share the immature emotional and social skills which may be expected in those with severe learning difficulties, but which are also present in those with low average or average abilities, thus posing an obstacle to their progress to employment.
