ABSTRACT

Up until now we have talked about 'the circle'. You probably have a picture in your mind of young people and adults sitting in circles interacting, relating and learning together. We would like to challenge you to expand this picture further by taking concepts embodied by the circle such as democracy, equality, respect, citizenship and apply them to all the systems in the schooL We call this approach the Whole School Quality Circle Time Model and it is summarised at a glance in Figure 2.1. Each aspect of the model is unravelled one at a time in Chapters 3-10.
