ABSTRACT

It is important that the curriculum we provide covers relevant aspects of mathematics. For some children with very special needs relevant learning will entail learning about its most deep-seated foundations – levels before the experience, use and manipulation of numbers. Others will move on to the recognition of numbers and counting, some pupils will learn to use numbers in practical processes and calculation, though they will still learn these skills through very small steps.
