ABSTRACT

Age 12 years - diagnosed at age eight years as having AD/HD Combined-type, prescribed Ritalin - verbal and non-verbal IQ in top 95th percentile, but learning difficulties with reading and writing, including fine motor control - initially suspected of having dyslexia (not confirmed) - showed inattentive, impulsive and aggressive behaviour in class, at lunchtime and at home, e.g., maximum attention span in most curriculum subjects was three minutes unless directly supervised, climbing on furniture, running around excessively, hardly ever standing still, only ever slept for four hours a night.
