ABSTRACT

Having introduced the concept of word-processing, the most commonly available forms are the industry packages, for example Microsoft Word (MSWord, or Word). People giving ICT support to dyslexic pupils often overlook these types of word-processors. This is in part due to the marketing of these products, which does not overtly suggest their suitability for use with dyslexic pupils. However, this does not mean that they are not of use, for they are extremely powerful and highly adaptable. They are also very flexible and are useful for pupils from KS1 through to university level and beyond. Word is the word-processing package that I am most familiar with, but most other industry standard software will include similar features.
