ABSTRACT

As with any new definition or interpretation of the school curriculum all departments will have to investigate differences to the content of the curriculum and then decide how to accommodate those differences. Although the Framework is based on the National Curriculum there are changes of emphasis and, in places, a different interpretation of the programme of study. Also, the major demand, already discussed in earlier chapters, that the majority of Year 7 pupils be taught Level 5 material from the National Curriculum will require most comprehensive school departments to make an audit of the Year 7 syllabus and be confident about changes that might be necessary.
