ABSTRACT

The Council for Disabled Children is an independently e1ected Council established under the auspices of the National Children's Bureau. It has representation from parents, voluntary organisations, professiona 1 assoc.iations and statutory agendes. Its aim is to identify

gaps and overlaps in the provision of services to children with special educational needs and disabilities, to support the development of policy and practice, and to work with national and local government to improve services. It is uniquely placed to bring different parties together to identify ways in which services can better meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.
