ABSTRACT

The revised Code of Practice has as one of its main principles the philosophy of inclusion, that is, the child with special educational needs (SEN) will remain, wherever possible, in a mainstream setting for his education, with any relevant and appropriate support he may require. As the Code makes provision from January 2002 for all Early Years children with special educational needs, a consequence of this is the necessity for all Early Years settings to have in place arrangements to meet the needs of such children.
