ABSTRACT
The original Special Needs Code of Practice established the principle that every school should designate a member of staff as its Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), to be responsible for the implementation of the recommendations of the Code. This principle remains in force with the revised Code of Practice, and so Early Years providers must also have a designated SENCO.
