ABSTRACT

A generic process network model called International Database for Ecoprofile Analysis (IDEA) developed at IIASA (Lübkert et al., 1991) was used to establish the inventory employing the unit process database for generating production structures and for the inventory calculations starting from a given final product demand. The unit process database contains the data of the inputs and outputs of the individual processes and the data for the production and the postprocessing profiles. The database defines the production shares in the cases where there are two or more processes producing (postprocessing) the same product. Substitution data for alternative products (namely, orientation profiles between recycling and waste management) and transportation profiles are also included.
