ABSTRACT
Restocking should follow on as soon as possible after felling (within days rather than months). Provided the harvesting operation is carefully planned and properly executed, the felling area should be left in a reasonable condition ready for restocking. It is a good plan to have the same team do the felling and the restocking (though good ‘fellers’ do not always make the best planters) to help ensure that the need for further preparatory work is kept to a minimum. However, several factors can retard progress.
