ABSTRACT
Woodland owners are enjoying their woods now more than ever before. As well as income from timber production, there is a growing recognition and appreciation of the many other benefits that small woods have to offer, such as the maintenance and enhancement of landscape and visual amenity. Landscape can be described as an extensive area of scenery, viewed from any location; visual amenity is a pleasant prospect seen at close quarters.
