ABSTRACT

Summary: This study of three protected areas in Vietnam illustrates how the impact of population pressures and poverty on forests and biodiversity is shaped by international conflicts, national policies and ideologies. Research team: This case study was carried out by the Center for Natural Resources and Environmental Studies of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and coordinated by WWF. Prof Dr Pham Binh Quyen was the project coordinator and Prof Dr Truong Quang Hoc was the project secretary.
