ABSTRACT
Whilst considering the mechanisms of manufacturing control, values of parameters such as order quantities, lead times and safety stocks have been stated and taken for granted. This chapter and Chapter 6 will look in more detail at how values may be set for these parameters and at the effect the values have on the overall control performance.
